Job description
As a part of our latest transformation, we are searching for an experienced Senior Technical Consultant to join our rapidly growing Professional Services group in our Center of Excellence in Hyderabad, India. This involves review of functional requirements, review of technical specifications, and development according to specification use cases. The Senior Technical Consultant will also support the implementation project team and client by troubleshooting system configuration, product installation, upgrade and other technical issues both internally and for clients. Senior Technical Consultant in Professional Services is responsible for the installation, implementation, upgrade and testing of Mitratech's suite of products at our client sites or remotely.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Primarily rsponsible for Java based development and Integration development for Mitratech software products either client onsite or remotely.
- Team Leadership and mentoring on client projects and internal strategic projects where needed.
- Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, is of high quality and is easy to maintain.
- Works with Business Analysts and Project Managers to review requirements and project deliverables and collaborate periodically with tasks updates.
- Work with various teams in the organization to ensure appropriate project requirements are met
- Writing and/or contributing to Best Practices and SOP documents.
- Perform code reviews.
- Provide client training classes, give demos, and other presentations as needed
- Voluntary mentoring of others.
- Works independently as Client facing consultant with Clients to understand issue, troubleshoot and help resolve technical problems.
- Provide input and proposals/recommendations for increasing efficiency in implementation, process improvements, technologies, and tools.
- Ability to carry out all policies and procedures as established by the team, department or company at large.
- Any other tasks that from time to time may be assigned to the role.
- Requires working on rotational shifts including US/UK time zone.
- May require working on weekends when there is a business need. Overtime compensation will be paid for such cases.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Java development focused in Web Application development, installation and modification in Web Application.
- 5+ hands-on experience in Java, J2EE programming technologies
- Proficiency in HTML, XML, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax.
- Strong knowledge & experience in consuming Web Services (SOAP and REST).
- Strong knowledge & experience in DDL, DML SQL and PL/SQL scripting.
- Experience on Oracle or/and SQL Server or relational databases environment.
- Experience in using Eclipse or similar IDE tool.
- Experience on Tomcat Application server environment.
- Knowledge of Authentication and Security protocols like HTTPS, SFTP and SAML.
- Working experience in Software Development methodologies like Waterfall and Agile.
- Proficiency in working in Linux and Windows environment.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as SAP Business Objects or Tableau or Sisense is a plus.
- Java Programmer Certification or J2EE course work.
- SQL Programmer Certification.
- Experience on WebLogic or WebSphere Application server environment.
- Experience in Subversion and Maven like technologies for Code Repository and builds.
Education and other Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Open to lead the team some time when necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with can do attitude.
- Self-motivated, strong team player able to work independently and ability to multi-task.
- Strong team player with follow up skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new technical skills and also train others.
- Excellent client facing communicate skills.
