Position Overview

WM Batch Operations team supports Run the Bank and Change the Bank activities for the batch components of several applications. The candidate will be a senior member of the Batch Operations global team responsible to provide End to End Operational Support for WM batches as whole. Candidate will work on aspects like Production monitoring, troubleshooting, outage management, failover, systems recovery, documentations etc.

This role also requires strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with strong work ethics. They will work closely with Application teams, Application Support groups, Mainframe teams, DBA's, Batch Systems, Infrastructural support groups, Storage Team and other distributed application teams supporting WM application.

Responsibilities include -

  • Play a lead role in driving the day to day batch operate functions.
  • Ensure adherence standard ITIL processes around Incident, Problem and change management processes.
  • Escalating appropriately based on documented processes.
  • Own and address batch progression consistently and own and drive issues relative to challenges around meeting SLAs.
  • Producing a monthly metric report that summarizes the incident management, turnover, outage, and completed projects.
  • Holding weekly 1:1s with the members of the Production Support team
  • Managing outages
  • Assigning projects to the ops team members and tracking their activities
  • Ensures that the efforts of the ops team are coordinating and help facilitate knowledge sharing across the team
  • Analyze areas of remediation to minimize incidents (e.g. Problem Management)
  • Preforming Change reviews, executing change tasks, and coordinating change activity as needed.
  • Assisting support teams in updating job documentation and job schedules as needed to support efficient batch processing.
  • Drive batch related projects including Upgrades, EOL effort, BCM events, Major Releases and other planned events.

Skill Required:

  • Ability to manage a team
  • Prior production management experience
  • Prior Linux / Windows systems admin experience
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Prior development experience a plus
  • Strong project management & estimating skills
  • Working knowledge on Mainframe technologies / Data Warehouse or Hadoop technologies
