Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (WM) is a product of the acquisition of Smith Barney from Citigroup, which was completed in June 13. Its core client base is individual investors, small- to medium-size businesses and institutions, and high net worth families and individuals. In the second half of 14, WM reached a milestone, with its business having surpassed $2 trillion in total client assets.
The IST (Investment Solutions Technology) team within the Wealth Management Investment Product & Solutions IT (IPSIT) develops platforms, applications and tools to support Mutual Funds, Alternative Investments, Annuities, UITs and other businesses.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Technologist with experience in designing, developing and supporting applications using latest technologies and tools (Angular, Java/J2EE, SQL Server, Apache Solr etc). She/he will work closely with the global team and will help build next generation applications/platforms supporting critical front office functions.
The Right Candidate
1) A full-stack hands-on Technologist with 6+ years of hands-on experience in building and supporting enterprise applications.
2) Solid hands-on experience in building applications using Java/J2EE and related technologies.
3) Experience in developing web services using standard Java based frameworks/toolkits (REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML).
4) Experience building applications, using the modern web development tools including JavaScript frameworks such as Angular 2+ and frameworks such as Bootstrap.
5) Good understanding of DB concepts and experience working on SQL Server (or other RDBMS).
6) Excellent communications, analytical and problem solving skills.
Skill Set:
Primary skills
o Java/J2EE and relate technologies.
o Angular 2+ (or other similar Javascript based UI frameworks)
o Spring, myBatis, Gradle etc.
o SQL Server (or any other RDBMS).
o Apache Solr.
Good to have skills
o Exposure and good understanding of Asset/Wealth management domain a plus.
o Experience building & supporting applications in banking domain a plus.
