Job Summary
The Data/BI Engineer will be part of the Reporting Team. The Data Services team works very closely with all aspects of data, both internal and external. We are looking for a Data Engineer with the Software Engineering skill to build data pipelines for efficient and reliable data movement across systems, and to build the next generation of data tools to enable us to take full advantage of this data. In this role, your work will broadly influence the company's data consumers, executives and analysts.
Responsibilities and Duties
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of heterogeneous data sources.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data to provide actionable insights, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
Create visualizations and reports to assist in building and optimizing product into an innovative industry leader.
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data systems.

Required Experience and Qualifications
Qualifications:
Experience with ETL and Data Blending and Transformation tools such as Pentaho Data Integrator, Talend Data Integration, Informatica
Enterprise development knowledge and/or experience with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and Columnar databases like Vertica, MemSQL
Experience building batch, real-time and streaming analytics pipelines with data from event data streams, NoSQL and APIs
Skilled in Python and preferably in one or more programming languages like C++, Java etc..
Good understanding of technology and industry and able to make decisions on the best technology for integrated solutions
3+ years of collective experience in data engineering and data analysis
2+ years of experience architecting, building and administering large-scale distributed applications
