Job description:

Has a minimum of 8 years of experience in SQL Database production environment. Will manage and perform standard maintenance, monitoring, and tuning of numerous SQL production database instances. Has worked with SQL 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019.

• Support existing databases while assuring optimized performance, stability, and uptime.

• Deliver projects tied to databases.

• Trouble-shoot SQL 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019 database issues.

• Assess databases to assist in troubleshooting and performance tuning

• Set up Backup and Recovery policies and jobs.

• Use appropriate tuning methodology and tools to triage and resolve database performance issues.

• Support 2017/2019 installations.

• Support 2017/2019 upgrades.

• Provide reliable technical support and guidance on CORP issues in a high velocity and dynamic environment.

• Be flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management.

• Work closely with various Infrastructure and Support teams across global.

• Present DDL/DML changes successfully to high concurrency databases while preserving uptime and efficiency. Skills Required:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering a large production SQL Server environment.

• 5+ years of experience in a complex Windows Server environment.

• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of Golden Gate replication software.

• In-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures.

• Knowledge of SQL and T-SQL

• Experience with following systems and applications: - Microsoft clustering - SCOM - SANs - Microsoft Windows 2012/2016/2019 Server - Scripting - preferably PowerShell

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to use scripts to automate and streamline routine work is a plus.

• SQL patching, SQL troubleshooting and communication with Microsoft support.

• Experience with SQL Log-shipping and Mirroring Standby databases

• Experience with OLTP and Batch processing database setup.

• Experience with standard System Administration tasks including server builds, security updates, software installations and system troubleshooting.

• A strong commitment to follow and improve processes and procedures.

• Self-motivated and able to manage self-imposed deadlines / responsibilities.

• Security focused with a production mindset.

• Strong team player who excels in a collaborative environment.

• Management skills and experience on Oracle/MySQL/ProgreSQL/MongoDB is a big plus.
