Position Title: PostgreSQL DBA

Location: Spokane, WA 99201

Job Description :

Must have skill: PostgreSQL DB Admin

Good to have skills: Cloud experience

Functional expertise: DBA of PostgreSQL with experience in large data center environment of backup recovery, replication, high availability, designing and managing schema, monitoring diagnosing and optimizing database performance

Responsibilities

1.           Ability to detect and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, IO, disk space, and other resource contention issues

2.           Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery and replication solutions and best practices

3.           Demonstrated experience implementing/ deploying database servers

4.           Expertise in writing SQL queries, analyzing query performance using query plans and tuning query performance

5.           Advanced knowledge of Database Administration on the PostgreSQL platforms operating within on premise and cloud installations.

6.           Advanced knowledge of Database Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and 3rd party tools.

7.           Advanced knowledge of Database operational monitoring and alerting for PostgreSQL.

8.           Advance knowledge of Backups, restores and recovery models.

9.           Advance knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.

10.         Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices

11.         Critical thinking skills and ability to adapt to rapid project changes
