Looking for a strong Cognos Developer.  
Top 3 required skills/years of experience:

• Cognos (Reporting tool): 3 yrs
• SQL: 3 yrs
• Java: 1 yr

Description:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree given preference.
Minimum of 5 years of broad, hands-on Cognos BI experience required

Essential Skills and Knowledge
Must be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Cognos 10.2 suite of tools and Studios, including, but not limited to:
       1. Framework Manager must know how to create relational models using best practices; DMR experience required
       2. Report Studio this includes creating new reports, maintaining existing reports and troubleshooting performance and design-related issues
       3. Transformer create new models and cubes using a variety of data sources available in Cognos 10

Strong SQL skills are required for development of custom SQL and reporting views
Good verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail are essential
Strong presentation and mentoring skills are required to offer effective demonstrations and lead end-users through classroom instruction
Must be able to work independently and manage one’s time effectively

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interact with business unit users for requirement gathering and development process
• Use Cognos Framework Manager to build models, packages and publish packages
• Use Cognos Report Studio to develop standard and complex reports
• Use Cognos Transformer to create cubes based on business requirements and create the related drill-through reports
• Mentor other developers for support of newly created reports
• Create technical specifications and documentation
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English; may be required to make presentations to end-users at all levels within the business
• Must be flexible to occasionally work after normal business hours for supporting the application
