Title: Unix/ Linux Admin
Location: Chicago. IL
Duration: Long Term

Job Summary : 

Technical Skills             

Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills 

·        Experience to perform system installation, configuration and troubleshooting to normalize the impacted services 

·        Experience to manage IBM (AIX) Power systems and RHEL servers in  a Mid –to-large enterprise comprising of High-Availability (HA) clusters and Virtualized environment (IBM LPAR, PowerVM, VMware)

·        Experience to Install and configure AIX/Linux operating systems and troubleshoot LPARs, VIO servers and  RHEL/ SUSE on physical or virtual servers

·        Experience in supporting critical business applications hosted on  AIX/ Linux servers

·        Experience to update/ upgrade and create procedures to manage vulnerability and security of Unix / Linux systems

·        Proven Experience and knowledge on Veritas clustering and/or GPFS installation and administration on Unix (AIX)/Linux systems

·        Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive

·        Experience to design, lead and participate in Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery activities

·        Sound experience in troubleshooting application and infrastructure-related incidents

·        Experience to create and execute tasks via automation scripts; including testing, configuration management and incident remediation 

·        Sound knowledge and experience of networking protocols and services e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc., MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, SDN, OSI layers and load balancing.

·        Experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems

·        Experience of Data Center Migration, Transformation and consolidation will be an advantage

·        Experience in operational monitoring and management tools (e.g. Solarwinds, System Center, NimBUS, Zabbix, Grafana/Graphite, Nagios, etc.) is desired

·        Flexible to work in 24 x7 environments including night shifts

·        Previous working experience as a AIX & Linux Administrator of at least 8 years, in a mid-to-large-scale multi-geo organization, is desired

·        Knowledge and expertise of OS clustering, partitioning and virtualization

·        Should have good knowledge/ experience in managing multi Hypervisor Management Systems (e.g.VMware, AHV, KVM, HyperV.).

·        Experience with Storage (SAN, NAS, DAS) and Backup systems is desired

·        Experience of managing one or more relational databases (e.g. DB2, Oracle, Terradata, Sybase, etc.).

·        Experience with non-relational databases (preferably Redis, Cassandra, and Solr) is an advantage

·        Experience with message brokers such
