Job Description: Sr. Salesforce QA/SDET (Marketing Cloud)
• As a Senior Salesforce QA/SDET, you will be the most senior QA/SDET on the team and will function as the QA Lead. You will be a highly influential individual contributor with responsibility for critical outcomes.
• You will be building a full QA/SDET team from scratch and will be highly influential in helping to hire other QA/SDETs and training/mentoring.
• You will be determining and implementing a full QA/Automation plan for a large-scale Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation and migration for a mission-critical messaging platform. We are relying on you to be seasoned in all phases of the QA lifecycle and in pushing our teams to automate and move quickly.
• You will be analyzing complex business and systems requirements and providing testing and automation solutions to meet system and user requirements.
• You’ll be testing and integrating with backend systems, publishers, and partner teams to ensure the platform provides needed functionality and service, while all focusing on the prime goal of modernizing the platform and achieving immensely higher scalability and availability.
• You’ll be a core member and technical leader of a scrum team that will include developers, QA/SDET engineers, product owners, architects, and other essential partner roles. Important Experience and Qualifications:
• Experience being the QA Lead for a Marketing Cloud implementation project (Financial or Banking industry preferred) that included Email, SMS, and Push channels.
• Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant certifications preferred.
• Deep knowledge of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) platform.
• Prior experience implementing full cycle projects SFMC.
• Prior experience as a QA Lead – building a QA/SDET team from scratch; building the processes, tools, and data needed for all testing and validation; successfully deploying all phases of a large-scale SFMC implementation.
• Experience with Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Journey Builder, Content Builder, Audience Builder, Analytics Builder, and Automation studio (Omni channel).
• Ability to design testing and automation solutions on the SFMC platform based on technology and business needs. Ability to assist in ensuring availability, redundancy, throughput, speed, and security.
• Proficient in Marketing Cloud Connector and integrating with other Salesforce Cloud types (e.g.: Sales and Service Cloud and with external systems).
• Must be a team player, able to give and receive feedback, solve challenging problems, and assist others in their deliverables. We are team focused and outcome oriented – divas need not apply. We need someone who has strong development skills in Java & moved into testing. Technical Skills:
• Strong expertise in understanding features product architecture and come up with 100% test coverage for the features developed.
• Optimises test cases without compromising on quality
• Integration with CI tools like Jenkins, Drone, etc
• Working knowledge of at least one Cloud Platforms (PCF, GCP, AWS, Azure, etc)
• Good programming knowledge in Java (JS is a bonus) and Automation experience in UI and/or APIs
• Has continuously improved, extended automation frameworks.
• Should be well versed with DevOps domain like Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, etc.
• Should be passionate about exploratory testing, in-sprint automation using various open-source or licensed tools (eg: Testim), performance testing, etc.
• Very deep understanding in Splunk and AppDynamic Responsibilities:
• Understands the feature requirements and tests the features for quality, scalability, usability, performance, etc by working closely with the PMs, Devs, CS teams, etc
• Automate repeated steps related to testing, setting up the environment, configuration, etc.
• Follows all Quality Hygiene processes (updates Test case, Bug & Test script attributes such as priority, components, tags, Escape analysis, etc)
• Involve & participate actively in CFD analysis, drive RCA for the CFDs, learn from the gaps, and focus on continuous improvement.
• Applies the "Test Pyramid" model and ensures quality is built-in across the Product life cycle.
• Leverages Alpha & Beta testing for eligible features, ensures customer needs are met across different Personas
• Contributes to everyday release by applying shift left testing principles
• Constantly evaluate, research, and perform PoCs for new tools & solutions resulting in higher productivity, efficiency, and positive business outcomes. The ideal candidate should:
• be a hands-on problem solver interested in performance engineering and understanding what makes applications, databases and systems performant and scalable
• love digging deep to find the needle in the haystack to find answers
• not be happy sitting on the sideline
• be a self-starter with the ability to deliver on time with quality and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Will create use cases, develop and maintain test specifications, test cases, test scripts and test data. Will implement test practices, standards and processes, troubleshoot test issues, record test results, track and prioritize defects, participate in product readiness and release decisions. Will also establish fact based measures of test efficiency, effectiveness and product readiness. Responsible for estimating, coordinating and directing testing for multiple products/projects. Software quality assurance on highly complex and/or multiple projects, including manual test case execution, defect tracking, test plan/test case creation and management, and requirements analysis is required. Additional requirements include testing web-based applications, performance testing, MVS mainframe development environment experience, JCL, TSO, processing batch jobs and working with production development environments. Software development experience as a Client/Server Application Developer or Web Application Developer (J2EE) is preferred but not required.
