Position Objective:

The SQL Database Developer at Sunbelt Rentals is part SQL developer and part technical communicator. This role plans, coordinates, develops, and manages databases, including database definition, structure, documentation, requirements, operational guidelines and protection. This role will work with the Sunbelt Rentals software engineering teams on database development for internal applications. A major component for the role is to ensure accurate and the completeness of data, as well as establish and maintain security/integrity controls. Additionally, the SQL Database Developer resolves performance issues and participates with the Database management team that formulates policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant engineering field or equivalent work experience

7+ years of experience in IT database administration and architecture

Demonstrated practical knowledge of database design, programming, installation and configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting

Experience with SQL Server 2014 and above, T-SQL, Integration Services (SSIS)

Familiarity with SQL Reporting Services (SSRS)

Familiarity with SQL Analysis Services (SSAS) a plus

Familiarity with C#, ASP.net, and the .Net Framework

Familiarity with Microsoft Azure a plus

Ability to interpret, adapt, communicate, and apply guidelines and procedures

Ability to develop and implement short- and long-range computer systems, capacity, and operational plans

Knowledge of business practices and procedures
