The SEI Wealth Platform has a challenging career opportunity for an Azure Operations System Engineer within the cloud enablement team. The optimal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the performance of cloud systems, including - Tracking production problems, identify potential problems before which can result in service interruption, DR/BCP planning and execution.
What you’ll do:
Primary responsibility is to design, develop and implement solutions for the operational areas of the Azure Landing Zone
Operational monitoring of the critical services of the landing zone
Act as escalation to the existing Infrastructure teams
Recommend monitoring patterns for infrastructure and application services
Cost optimization techniques and recommendations for the SEI cloud footprint
Help setup initial infrastructure and maintain existing solutions
Ensure security and compliance within cloud solutions
Ensure that all systems are available and performing according to the expected Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Provide support for our production environments running on Azure, along with other key stack components
What you bring to the table:
BA/BS, in a related technical field; or the equivalent in education and work experience
5+ years of experience in systems engineering with strong focus on automation and Microsoft Azure.
Strong experience with Production Operations and excellent troubleshooting skills, preferably in large environments.
Experience with interacting with various Microsoft Azure services in production environments.
Have a good track record of using automation tools like Terraform to build infrastructure that scales.
Understanding of concepts such as virtualization, containerization, auto-scaling, experience with GIT, CI/CD integration tool chains, building fault-tolerant solutions and fully automated systems.
Good knowledge and are well-versed in Terraform.
Experience with hardening of modern operating systems, web and application servers, databases and proxies
Preferably Azure Certified Administrator Associate (AZ104)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
