JOB DETAIL

Location: Stamford, CT locals  ONLY

Duration: 7+ months to start  

Industry: Cable TV

Key responsibilities include:

  • Specify high level solution designs, including hardware BoMs, based on business needs and provide detailed OPEX and CAPEX costs.
  • Build network infrastructure, test and deploy network changes.
  • Implement complex network changes within the environment to optimise and improve the network topology focussing on manageability, agility.
  • Lead on the administration and management of the cable network. 
  • Manage incident and problem resolution across the network, security and WAN infrastructure at all US offices.
  • Provide third-line support to resolve complex problems.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of network performance statistics using a variety of tools.
  • Review and provide technical assurance for low level design and implementation plans created by Third party suppliers.
  • Prepare low-level network designs and implementation plans for complex solutions with vendor and industry best practices and reference architectures.
  • Create, maintain and review operational and technical design documentation
  • Assist with the development of network optimization and capacity plans
  • Produce implementation scripts, test plans and change controls for all network changes.
  • Support other technical teams in the implementation of storage, compute and production applications such as Isilon, Avid, and Adobe.

 Essential skills required:

  • Network design and administration experience.
  • CCNP and at least 8 years experience in a networking role including high/low level design, implementation and incident/problem management. 
  • Experience with reviewing network design documentation and the ability to use Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience of working with Cisco router platforms and an understanding of EIGRP, BGP, OSPF and IP multicast.
  • Experience working with load balancers and firewalls.
  • Multi-Vendor firewall experience including VPN:  Cisco, Sonicwall, Untangle
  • Experience with designing wireless networks including full pre and post site surveys using industry standard techniques.
  • Experience with major wireless network vendors including Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Aerohive, Ubiquiti and survey tools such as Ekahau.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools - Solarwinds, Orion, Client, BSM Tufin
  • Cisco routers and switches is essential but experience with Dell and Client is desirable.
  • Experience working with Data Centers managing cabling infrastructure (copper and fibre), power provision and UPS.
  • Hands on experience of operational support and hardware implementation.
  • Experience working in a video post-production environment is desirable.
