Roles/Responsibilities (5 – 8 day to day candidate’s responsibilities)
- Responsible for the design, development, installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, security, and maintenance of on-premises and cloud database environments. Identifies and mitigates risk to eliminate or minimize impact on the organization
- Establishes, provides oversight, and insures optimum performance, reliability, recoverability, security and stability across all database environments.
- Works with the Infrastructure team on database issues that involve network, server, and cloud environment. Ensures that prompt and proactive communication occurs to the appropriate internal and external resources regarding the database environments.
- Develops and integrates replication, archiving, log shipping, high availability, and backup and recovery strategies. Accountable for the IT Disaster Recovery database processes and procedures. Participates in Disaster Recovery testing.
- Manage cloud infrastructure. Support upgrades, installing, configuring and monitoring solutions in Azure.
- Assist with upgrading, installing, configuring and monitoring solutions in Azure including deployments, patches, security checks, maintenance of Open Source tools, Azure Marketplace tools & COTS applications and maintenance of gold images/scripts.
- Assist with reporting on current infrastructure status, and planning for future usage.
- Implement and maintain system and data security strategies, policies, and procedures and support documentation of system artifacts required for security certification.
- Track and manage system certificates, privileged accounts, and database passwords as needed.
- Install, configure and administer database software within a multi database client/server environment.
- Perform long-term strategic planning for: database growth, database upgrades, operating system upgrades, hardware capacity, and hardware migrations
- Work closely with application teams to provide integrated planning for database and applications upgrades
Required Qualifications (5 – 8 bullet points on must have skills)
- Minimum 2 years of Azure administration experience required
- Minimum 1 year experience in any Azure migration project.
- Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent problem solving skills. Understanding of application development lifecycle and formal methodologies. Understanding of process engineering. Understanding of project management concepts
- Minimum two years cloud database administration and architecture experience.
- Strong knowledge in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Server Backup
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics/Azure SQL Data Warehouse preferred
- Experience using git or Azure DevOps for code management preferred
- 2-3 Experience on creating the frameworks towards building the data pipelines.
- Must have experience on configure the data streams between Event Hub and Azure Service Bus with other integration systems such as Data Bricks etc.
- Must have experience working with Onshore / Offshore model. (Mandatory) ·
