Job Description:
Looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer to help in the design and development of our phone/tablet/FireTV/AndroidTV apps. As a senior engineer, you will work within our digital organization to design, develop, deliver, as well as maintain and enhance world class Android apps across multiple form factors (phone, tablet, TV, wearables, etc…). You will also be responsible for guiding other mid-level engineers on best practices, coding guidelines for building and maintaining high performing Android applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, Develop, Deliver and maintain world class Android applications across multiple form factors for Beachbody (phone, tablet, TV, Wearables, etc.)
- Evaluate and research latest technology, coding patterns and frameworks within the space
- Work with project managers to ensure that all project milestones are met
- Work collaboratively with peers and other teams (Product, PMO, QA etc)
- Provide technical estimates for development efforts and provide solutions to requirements presented by Product team
- Team player attitude. You need to work well with others.
- Investigates and resolves issues with our applications.
- Work collaboratively with peers and teams such as Business Owners, Product and QA
- Provides solutions to requirements presented by the Product Team.
Experience
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field and at least 5 years’ experience or equivalent training.
- MINIMUM 3 years’ experience developing native Android client applications, with working knowledge and demonstrated experience of Java and Android SDKs/Frameworks
- Experience using Kotlin for Android development is strongly preferred
- Solid demonstrated experience testing your applications, including writing unit tests, test automation, and working closely with quality assurance teams.
- Successful launch of consumer grade applications to the Google Play Store
- Experience with efficient client-side integration with Restful services in a high-performance ecosystem
- Solid demonstrated experience launching native mobile applications on multiple devices
- Solid demonstrated experiencing optimizing native mobile applications for non-functional performance (memory, power, etc.…)
- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM or Kanban processes and project methodologies.
- Best practices for source code management, Git, modern branching concepts, etc.
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools and processes
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in media based apps, wearables, health a plus
