Looking for a Java developer that became an Android Developer with KOTLIN
The Senior Android Developer will be responsible for developing enhancements, new features, and greenfield mobile apps focused on in-room services and digital check-in. This developer will be responsible for creating lean, functional code for mobile devices as well as integrating mobile apps with a wide variety of backend services and databases. They will also work collaboratively with individuals from Product Management and Product Design to ensure rapid and iterative changes can be implemented to Hyatt’s mobile experience in response to discoveries in customer data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop native mobile applications for Android utilizing Kotlin
- Partner with UX designers, Product Managers, and Back-End Engineers to build intuitive user interfaces from the ground-up
- Engage in regular code reviews with colleagues to review, analyze, improve, and teach coding skills
- Consult with other team members as well as other product teams and implement solutions in-line with the departments’ visions
- Be comfortable in a fast-paced, iterative, experimental, and data-driven environment
- Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies to evaluate impact to business and member value.
- Manage multiple initiatives with competing priorities across the teams simultaneously by applying the right level of effort and care
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Android development focused on Kotlin
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL, PHP, a plus
- Able to maintain and refactor existing codebases to best practices and new technologies
- Ability to partner with backend developers to integrate and consume API’s
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
