“Integration”: UBC employs tech that integrates across several avenues:
BV: benefit verifications. So our systems utilize tools to check a patient’s medical or pharmacy benefits: some of this is our tech, some are integrated with insurance payers.
External SP/SDs: Specialty Pharmacies (SP) and Specialty Distributors (SD) are partners for some programs where the safety component requires us to track the movement of the drug, or the dispensing to patients. This occurs via Aps, web services, and at times old school sFTPs.
Type of Projects:
Likely be the ones that bridge REMS and Commercial programs. By that I mean:
- If you think about how much a client invest to get a drug to market, only to have the FDA say “hold the phone, we have some safety concerns”. So the product will still go to market, but with some monitoring in play (which is what REMS means – Risk Evaluation and Migration Strategies). That’s no more than a website that’s built for safe, secure data collection of prescriber and patient information. These systems integrate with the pharmacies and such as described above.
- Similarily, some products have less restrictions, but drug makers put in patient support and other launch-based programs to take the product to market. This would include websites targets at the doc’s who will prescriber the product, and that’s where the BV’s come in to play. These could also intergrate with UBC’s call center technology (Microsoft CRM), other external vendors (when you see a commercial for a drug and they said ‘having trouble paying for your prescription? XXX can help. Call 800-blah-blah”. Copay vendors is an example.
Role: Project Manager IT and BA
Solid foundational knowledge of:
- IT Application development methodologies, design patterns, and system integration concepts including experience with:
- DB structures and queries
- APIs / UI relationships
- IT infrastructure and architectural concepts
- Financial/Banking experience
Ability to:
- Manage competing application and product development initiatives
- Manage internal and external system integrations
- Manage vendor relationships
- Solicit and transform business and operational requirements into platform-level requirements
- Assess resource and SME needs required for a wide-range of software development initiatives
- Represent IT with existing and prospective clients
