JOB DETAIL

The State of Maine seeks an Information Technology professional with a proven track-record as a Business Analyst supporting the functional area for Human Capital Management (HCM) and Compensation for the Workday Application. As a Business Analyst, you will support the Workday Functional Lead for HCM and Compensation by working collaboratively with the Lead Business Analyst to manage daily operational support activities as the state implements the cloud-based financial management and human capital management software. The successful candidate must be resourceful, work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively work independently with direction from the HCM Lead. The candidate will have extensive experience managing multiple urgent priorities issues concurrently.

Primary day to day responsibilities:

• Work with the various business stakeholders in the support and implementation of Workday HCM, Compensation and Recruiting models.

• Respond to business requirement questions and basic navigation within the application.

• Demonstrate understanding of system design and functionality by being able to identify potential issues and offer creative solutions and alternatives

• Effectively communicate status updates and risk assessments to the management team

• Provide implementation support through transition to ongoing operations, including support of user acceptance testing, management of end-to-end issue resolution cycle and partnered leader in change management and user adoption plans.

• Ability to deal with stress related to resolution timeframes and conflicting/competing priorities.

• Respond to business requirement questions and basic navigation within the application.

Skills:

• Highly proficient in documenting requirements using textual presentation and modeling tools.

• Skilled in identifying, planning, and working via clear priority-setting.

• Independently and effectively manages time using common-sense priority setting.

• Creative problem solver in using various technologies.

• Experience gathering report requirements from end users and translating to functional specifications.

• Strong process improvement knowledge is required.

• Highly organized and problem-solver.

• Experience working with Data Warehouse constructs and concepts.

• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SQL Query, JIRA, SharePoint.

• Oracle Analytics Cloud Services experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Workday implementation experience required. Four   years working with HCM and Compensation is required.

• Experience with QA testing and results.

• Experience in writing business requirement and documenting business processes required.

• Experience working with Agile software project management tools such as JIRA

• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.

• Functional knowledge and experience with cross applications with compensation, HCM, benefits and payroll, time tracking, & absence is preferred.

• Experience supporting and implementing customer-facing web-applications, SaaS solutions and custom solutions preferred.
