Overview:

The DBA provides administrative and maintenance support to on-prem and Azure SQL Databases.

Performs performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, backups, error checks, and replication.

Work directly with Team Lead to triage and troubleshoot on escalating issues.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain SQL Servers

• Manage SQL server databases

• Plan and install patches

• Backup and restore on-prem and Azure SQL databases

• Monitor SQL Agent jobs and respond to critical job notifications on failure

• Monitor servers for any performance issues and escalate as needed

• Monitor and optimize the performance of on-prem and cloud databases.

• Automate common management tasks using PowerShell.

• Evaluates data access and security to ensure that electronic data resources are available to

those who need access and protected

• Automates database Management tasks

• Creating documentation and maintenance plans, assigning monitoring threshold values

• Test backup/recovery, replication, failover, and disaster recovery

• Works collaboratively with the application support and development team including architects,

developers to ensure project success

• Assists in project planning and management with clients and other staff members

• Deploy new database and code per change requests

• Provides troubleshooting and support including after-hours support
