JOB DETAIL

Title: Lead Oracle Application DBA

Why open: The team needs to upgrade their Oracle based finance applications by 12/31/2021 and needs additional expertise to come in and help guide them through the upgrade and deployment.

Role:  This lead will be guiding the team through the Oracle upgrade, specifically the Oracle Financials upgrade, so they must know the environment, understand how things are done, and be responsible for other Oracle Application DBAs and teaching others best practices.  They are upgrading to 19C.  This candidate ideally will have expertise in GL, AP, and FA and understand the interconnectivity between all of these modules.  They need someone who has done extensive work with customizations and reporting while also working closely with the QA team.

 

This specific resource, being the Lead Oracle Application DBA, must be extremely well versed in all things Oracle Finance including the specific modules listed below.  This individual will be overseeing 5-7 Oracle App DBAs and being the SME / go to person for questions, concerns, and best practices.

 

 

Must haves:

  • 7+ years as an Oracle DBA doing upgrades, deployments, module configurations utilizing SQL, PL/SQL, shell programming, XML, APIs, and Java
  • 4+ years’ experience specifically with Oracle Financials and expertise in the following modules (understanding their interconnectivity):
    • GL – General Ledger
    • FA – fixed assets
    • AP – accounts payable
  • Experience with customizations and reporting
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring other Oracle Application DBAs through upgrades
  • Excellent communication skills

 

Nice to haves:

  • 19c Upgrade experience
  • Experience working within large, complex companies
  • CVS/Aetna experience.
