Python Developer (Ruby on Rails)

We are looking for a Solid Python Developer with good Ruby on Rails experience developing APIs/Applications to run natively within AWS. This is primarily a software development position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement cloud-native software solutions on the AWS platform.
- Build and share technical expertise with agile team members and other members of the organization.
- Participate in technology communities of practice to define and continuously refine standards and best practices.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Achieve operational excellence by automating processes and creating maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions.
- Keep up with technology trends and innovations in your field(s) of practice
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting for your team’s products and services
- Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for new or less experienced team members
- Provide leadership and guidance to your team in your technical field(s) of expertise
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 3+ years of engineering or other IT work experience relevant to the position
- Solid understanding and significant experience with modern software development practices, tools, and hardware technologies
- Solid understanding of Internet application security best practices
- Expertise in one or more technical and/or functional domains relevant to the position
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions
- 1+ year of AWS software development experience
- Knowledge and experience developing server-side Python based Microservices
- Knowledge and experience developing server-side Ruby on Rails services
- Knowledge and experience working with SQL databases
- Willingness to learn new skills and programming languages
- Experience with Git/GitHub, and popular CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Sonar
- Experience with Java, Spring, SpringBoot would be a great plus
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Kafka is desirable
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to work in a highly-collaborative environment
