Senior Cloud Engineer who can help us navigate all our cloud computing modernization and consolidation. The ideal candidate can drive cloud innovation needs, including infrastructure design, maintenance, support and planning, and everything in between. Not only can you help us define strategy and evolve our cloud capabilities over time, but you’re also evolving your own capabilities as an engineer that can support our company’s growth and expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Working in tandem with our engineering & application teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions.
- Planning, designing, developing, and documenting cloud-based strategies.
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
- Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
- Using your extensive knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed.
- Orchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the company.
- Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Functional or technical proficiency in Cloud Strategies
- Demonstrable experience deploying enterprise workloads to Azure
- Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
- Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
- Strong knowledge of IT business processes and practices
- Strong interpersonal skills - effective listening and teaming, self-motivated, demonstrated a bias for action
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience as a full time IT Professional
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments, including IaaS and PaaS as a Cloud Engineer
- Microsoft Azure Certification (MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or equivalent)
- Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience, a plus
Work Conditions:
- Office Environment
- Travel commitment up to approximately 25% (depending on project)
