JOB DETAIL

  1. An experienced engineer responsible for coordinating launch of wireless devices and features using the following technologies (5G, CBRS, Dual SIM, eSIM, MP-TCP and WiFi) across all wireless device operating systems like Android and iOS. Collaborate cross functionally to develop device requirements, interface with OEMs and internal teams for feature delivery and certification. 

    Core Responsibilities 
    • Serve as a SME for Device Protocol Conformance, RF Conformance, Regulatory Conformance and other Device certification aspects.
    • Develop Device Protocol / RF Conformance / Regulatory certifications and other Device certification plans for Comcast Device Certification program
    • Collaborate internally to develop testing processes, methodology, and tools and build in-house certification setup. 
    • Interface with Test Houses to enable them to develop Comcast Certified Testing program.  
    • Interface with OEMs to represent Comcast’s testing findings and advocate for solutions to improve Xfinity’s products  
    • Triage, debug, document and track issues discovered during testing 
    • Support pre-launch mobile field trials  
    • Technical and executive-level reporting.

    Required Qualifications and Skills
    • Experience with Developing End to End Device Certification process on a Tier 1 Carrier / OEM / Test Lab
    • Experience with developing and Executing Protocol / RF / IoT Test plans for Carrier / OEM
    • Effective working knowledge of smartphones, Android and iOS operating systems and mobile wireless telecommunications technologies, including LTE / 5G / CBRS.
    • General understanding of other related wireless technologies like SIM / eUICC / WiFi / IMS etc.
    • Experience with Test Equipment and Tools for Device Certification (For example: Channel Emulators, Faders, QXDM -QCAT/ Wireshark / Accuver etc.) 
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills as the candidate will author documents for consumption by OEMs, Test Houses and internal teams. 
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, leadership and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge and experience working with the Wireless Industry ecosystem 
    • Experience in performing and managing quality assurance activities, including functional and regression testing, performance and stress testing. 
    • Experience with the industry practices/processes for certifying mobile products for an MNO or MVNO.
