Job Description:

Team:

 

  • Falls under the Project Management org.
  • *This team is responsible for supporting infrastructure, cloud, and devops projects.
  • 3 PMs, plus this additional opening
  • Position reports into Director, Project Management iPMO

 

Skillset:

 

  • 7+ years’ experience managing infrastructure and Cloud projects, AWS, red hat, couch base, 2008 migrations, tools upgrades, App Dev.
  • These are all examples for initiatives they could be focusing on. She doesn’t have finalized initiatives for 2021 or know exactly what will fall under this person’s scope yet.
  • Experience with private or public cloud – Marriott’s in both.
  • Great communications skills – written and verbal.
  • Will be responsible for providing updates on project status to leadership.
  • Updates will be written and verbal- presentations, calls, etc.
  • Must eb able to give crisp narratives, no wandering.
  • They use ServiceNow mainly, moving to Agile. Will likely use Jira or ServiceNow. 
  • They're moving to Agile methodology.
  • Needs strong Agile experience in a large enterprise company. 
  • Agile & SaFe.
  • No waterfall.
  • Someone interested in long term opportunity.

Description:

 

SUMMARY

The Senior Program Manager – Infrastructure Delivery will effectively manage Infrastructure initiatives under Marriott’s Infrastructure Cloud and DevOps organization. The Senior Program Manager will plan, direct and coordinate activities pertaining to infrastructure technology and business programs at an enterprise level. (S)he will verify that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives. (S)he will communicate at both the technical level and business level with subject matter experts, ensuring that stakeholders from different aspects have a clear and concise understanding of portfolio/project objectives, statuses, risks and costs. The Senior Program Manager will report to the Director, Infrastructure Delivery PMO.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

Primary work location will be Gaithersburg, MD in Rio Offices and occasionally HQ in Bethesda, MD as well as data center in Frederick, MD. Some ability to work remote, but primary responsibilities require daily onsite availability.

 

CERTIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • 7 – 10 years of experience managing enterprise level infrastructure projects ($250K+).
  • Experience leading End User Technology and Security projects for a Fortune-500 company.
  • Experience leading heavily matrixed teams at a global level to include offshore teams and resources.
  • Excellent communications skills to effectively information share with project team members and senior managers.
  • Be available to work outside of the traditional hours and days to facilitate project events when required.
  • Can effectively work with diverse project team members and be able to instill a unified drive to achieve project objectives and milestones.
  • Skilled in conceptualizing creative solutions, documenting them, and presenting/selling them to senior management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite and applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Skype, Visio, Teams)

 

Preferred:

  • Proven track record in development of standard Project Management processes
  • Experience leading Cloud Projects and knowledge of AWS and Azure environments
  • Experience leading Enterprise system upgrades and DevOp projects
