· Looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our eCommerce Catering team.
· Ideally looking for someone who has migrated from Angular to Vue
· The team is responsible for new feature development and maintenance of an AngularJS & Spring eCommerce stack.
· This is unique b/c - This will work with a 3rd party vendor who actually developed the app. They have taken part of the UI in house. The vendor still manages the back end of the app.
· They are on an outdated Angular 1.
· The team is currently migrating from AngularJS to Vue
· This will call (not develop) Restful APIs.
· This person is a lone wolf and will work independently. This will be the only developer on this team.
o There are other teams with developers that can help out but for the most part this person needs to be extremely resourceful and able to “figure it out.”
· Lots of - Adding new features and enhancements.
Skills - Primary CSS3/HTML5, JavaScript, single page app framework, Angular, Vue
They’ll have the ability to work with the latest modern front-end technologies and frameworks, for example: SPAs, build tools, component libraries, CSS preprocessors, ES6, TypeScript.
The candidate should be confident starting projects from scratch, configuring build tools and project settings.
The ideal cultural fit will have a relentless continuous improvement mindset with the ability to learn new skills quickly. The person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and has an agile mindset, adapting to changing requirements and priorities. They’re self-motivated and use downtime to prototype solutions, research new technologies, take on extra projects or finally update that readme.
Responsibilities
· Develop new user-facing features and build reusable code for future use.
· Debug, triage, manage and prevent production issues.
· Long term technical debt resolutions, debt prevention and code reviews.
· Optimize applications for speed, scalability and security.
· Collaborate with other team members. E.g. QA, UX designers
· Research and develop POCs
Skills and Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in front-end development
· Proficient in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
· Experience with RESTful APIs.
· Experience with CSS preprocessing frameworks (LESS or SASS)
· Experience with SPA framework(s) & willingness to learn new ones (Angular, Vue.js, React)
· Experience writing unit tests (e.g. Mocha, Jest)
· Understanding of CSS flexbox, grid layouts, mobile first & responsive design.
· Experience collaborating in a team environment utilizing Git
· Comfortable working in *nix/Mac environment and command line
· Nice to have familiarity with Java and SpringBoot.
