JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Project Management Office the successful candidate will own the planning, delivery, and execution of enhancement work within Beachbody’s Project Management Office.  The successful candidate will have a solid background in digital web technology projectsSupply Chain system projects, and deep agile expertise. You will lead teams that are essential to accomplish key business and technology objectives of Beachbody. 

Specifically, this person will be

  • Leading enhancement teams for our key platforms. Includes updating processes to efficiently manage throughput, increase stability and enable key platform improvements as necessary.
  • Leading scrum ceremonies: daily stand-up meetings, grooming, retrospectives, and sprint planning, demos etc.
  • Enabling the team in making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
  • Identifying and removing impediments, preventing distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal.
  • Organizing, facilitating and working across PMO for release and instance planning as necessary
  • Recognizing and managing cross-team dependencies, properly managing risks and change, ensuring the team is aligned to desired outcomes.
  • Tracking and communicating scrum metrics including team velocity and sprint/release progress, updating Jira to provide transparency on Product & Sprint Backlogs, creating formal project plans and status reporting as necessary
  • Communicating effectively with project team leads and members so they feel as though they have adequate knowledge of milestones, progress and what is required of them. Additionally, this person may need to manage executive stakeholder expectations as necessary.
  • Managing financials, resource planning, onboarding of any team members, contracting as necessary of external resources on operations teams.
  • Ensuring the development teams are practicing the core agile tenets of self organization, collaboration, prioritization, releasing early and often, team accountability, and visibility leveraging a thorough understanding of agile values, recommending improvements and assist in changes to best practices

 

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • Scrum Master Certification with 6+ years of technical project management and/or Scrum Master experience, Certified Scrum Master Practitioner and Certified Scrum Product Owner a plus.
  • BA / BS degree in related field. SAFe, PMP, Agile/Scrum, or similar certifications are preferable.
  • Working knowledge of a broad range of technologies including consumer facing sites, business applications, infrastructure, data analytics and reporting, and cloud services.
  • Demonstrated capability creating and managing a sprint plan, project plan, managing resource capacity and budget against that plan.
  • Run Ceremonies (Work Intake, Quarterly Planning, Sprint Planning, Demos, Retrospectives)
  • Expertise with JIRA, in particular navigating, analyzing using filters/queries, and assessing velocity and backlog across several teams for getting early indicators of project schedule health and scope pressure. Expertise with spreadsheet tools (Excel/Google sheets) to perform related analysis tasks using advanced features, pivots, graphing.
  • Driver mentality, with ability to facilitate discussions among the correct people to resolve issues, make decisions and set direction.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a very dynamic, geographically distributed and timeline sensitive work environment
