Full Stack .Net Developer

Richmond, VA – Remote for now, but needs to be in Richmond

Contract: 6 moths with strong possibility to convert to full-time

Skills:

  • Highly experienced and knowledgeable of Angular, RESTful Application Program Interface, .Net development platform, and it’s interaction with SQL Server in an object oriented software model.
  • Track record of building and launching successful products and/or platforms that are scalable.
  • .Net development (C#) development experience including cross platform communication technologies such as Web API or WCF.
  • Experience in one of the following Cloud technologies: Azure, AWS, Google, OpenStack
  • Experience with one of the following Agile methodologies: Scrum, SAFe, and/or Kanban.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Workflow Processing, Data Modeling, Design, Implementation and Optimization.
  • Strong background in Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience. Ideally 6 or more years of developing web/mobile applications.

 

Non-Technical Skills:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Software Engineer position will be focused on supporting the Digital Agile Team. This position provides analysis, design, development, deployment, and support of VACU enterprise applications. Requires a close working relationship with product and application stakeholders to ensure technical and functional requirements are met. Also works closely with the network administration and engineering staff to enable application stability, performance, security, and monitoring. Candidate should be highly experienced and knowledgeable in Angular, .NET development platform, and its interaction with SQL Server in an object-oriented software model.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategy/Development:            

  • Collaborate with product management and design teammates to understand and improve the product and the user/member experience. 
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system and coding issues.
  • Act as technical lead in translating business requirements into technical specifications for software implementations.
  • Learn specific vendor software development kit to build out new/existing features and assist vendors with software upgrades and code deployment.
  • Build solutions that operate on large amounts of data in high transaction volume applications.
  • Build server API resources to capture data from online applications and integrate it with various backend systems
  • Work with your QA resources to ensure that the software you deliver is of the highest quality.
  • Act as a key member of the product launch team and work closely with teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Design and maintain efficient, reliable code.
  • Development of a monitoring system to enable a timely response to issues.
  • Work closely with database and network administrators to enable system security and performance during the software development process.
  • Assist in the design and development of a software release management process for enterprise applications.
  • Work closely with software and system architects to build and maintain an efficient software architecture model for the next generation of VACU applications.

 

Operational:

  • Enable and manage software deployment to maximize an effective DEV to QA to Production process.
  • Maintain source code versioning during the software release management process to ensure Rollback and Disaster Recovery needs are met.
  • Monitor application stability and provide timely support for the resolution of system issues.
  • Work with business & IT teams to ensure scalable work is smoothly transitioned to a full release.
  • Develop code iteratively including functional and unit testing.
  • Work with team to improve delivery processes and techniques.
  • Complete all required training.  Report all suspicious activity to Security.
  • Other duties may be required and assigned by the supervisor.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Technical:       

  • Demonstrated experience designing & building enterprise software solutions using Microsoft .NET platform.
  • Web development using ASP.NET MVC, C#, and .Net Web API. Front end development using Javascript, CSS3, HTML5 and popular libraries such as Angular, Bootstrap, Backbone, or Knockout.
  • .NET development (C#) development experience including cross platform communication technologies such as Web API or WCF.
  • Database design, T-SQL programming and performance tuning experience.
  • Ability to design and develop using Object Oriented design principles and software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability.
  • Azure API Management, Azure Development knowledge desired.
  • Demonstrated experience designing/creating user interfaces.
  • Thorough understanding of the application life cycle in web development.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer technical skills to new situations and learn quickly.
  • Experience with testing, unit tests, is desired.
  • Exposure to Rapid Application Development tools, such as low-code platforms, is a plus.

Minimum Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering preferred or appropriate combination of education and significant experience.
