Role        : DevOps Engineer II

Location : Detroit, MI

Visa :Only GC and USC 

Duration: 13 months

Description:

Client is currently seeking an experienced Technology Consultant II (DevOps Engineer) for our Enterprise Informatics Environment. The qualified candidate will work independently within guidelines, be responsible for coordinating and working with 3rd party vendor to manage AWS platform, DevOps automation, software upgrades, patch installations, security request and incident management.  Candidate will also work directly in Cloudera and Hadoop environments providing support and guidance to all technical teams. 

Top 3 Required Skills/Experience –

- Excellent analytical, logical reasoning, analytical organizational, verbal and written communication skills and attention to details a must. Must be able to exhibit in relation to data integration and management.

- Coordination of infrastructure and platform changes with 3rd party vendor and managing tickets and change requests via Cherwell.

- Minimum three (3) years' experience in a delivery or consulting role leading Information Management related initiatives is required

Required Skills/Experience –

- Knowledge of Deployment/DevOps Automation Tools: Jenkins and Cloudbees

- Knowledge of CICD and DevOps framework

- Should be well versed with GIT, GitHub or version control technologies and code promotion process using GIT/GitHub

- Scripting Skills:  Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, PHP and Node.js

- Experience in building and managing pipelines

- Knowledge of Kubernetes and EKS

- Knowledge of AWS and Azure Cloud Platform Technologies

- Knowledge in Redshift and Postgres

- Understanding of Information Security for data protection, governance and security preferred

- Need hands on Spark, Scala, eclipse, Hive, Impala and Big data technologies

- Experience in Web Administration is a plus. 

Preferred Skills/Experience – 

- Lead DevOps initiative to develop and maintain pipelines in Informatics Environment

- Lead and mentor team members on various aspects of DevOps engineering

- Knowledge of Software Security skills which includes code analysis and change management

- Lead, create, and collaborate with cross functional teams for AWS RDS projects

- Lead the implementation and administration of Apache/Tomcat web applications

- Manage, monitor vendor processes to align with client processes and adhere to corporate standards and policies

Education/Certifications – 

- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred

- Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
