Position: DevOps Engineer with Java & Spring

Location: Reston, VA (the candidate can work remotely now but will need to relocate once the situation is back to normal)

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Engineer on the clients Platform scrum development team, I will be collaborating with other progressive engineers to bring our software to the next levels of scalability, performance, security, and functionality.  This stack processes very large amounts of data using a variety of open-source technologies such as Java, Elastic, Kafka, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, Jenkins, Ansible, and others.  In this role there is lots of opportunity for growth - you will start with responsibility for both story-level and epic-level work, and broaden out from there.  As with all of our engineering roles, consultants will have influence on design and implementation and will be able to both mentor and be mentored.

Minimum Requirement:

• Need a candidate with a proven track record of building scalable data processing applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• 3+ years of active and recent Java+Spring experience (other languages and frameworks are a bonus)
• Additionally, you have experience in at least a few of the following areas:
• Unit, integration, acceptance, and performance testing
• CI/CD with Jenkins
• Elastic, Solr, Lucene querying and optimization
• Containerized workloads running in production, ideally with K8s. SDN plugins experience is a plus
• Logging/Metrics in distributed applications, for example ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana
• AWS or GCP
• Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation
