Client is looking for an Azure Big Data Consultant to join our team for one of our critical client relationships. The end customer whom you’ll be consulting is a F1000 organization. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who brings a strong business acumen, demonstrated developer skills and exceptional technical and functional abilities. You’ll be providing services for a range of complex requirements where you are the subject matter expert the room is looking to for guidance, education & adherence to best practices. It’s a dynamic & challenging role best suited for curious, talented Consultants seeking to take their skill sets to the next level & beyond.
Travel
This is approximately a 7-month engagement. Typically, you’ll be working remote Mon-Fri each week. There is an estimation of less than 20% travel should Covid-19 restrictions ease. Pre-approved travel expenses are covered.
Core Accountabilities:
- Deep Knowledge on Open Source Technologies for Distributed Data processing, analysis of big data sets including writing jobs to process vast amounts of data and ETL processing, required expertise is over tools such as: Apache Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Spark, Databricks, Hive
- Deep Knowledge on Open Source Technologies to perform fast, interactive SQL queries at scale over structured or unstructured big data sets, required expertise is over tools such as: Apache Hive LLAP, Spark SQL, Phoenix
- Deep Knowledge on Open Source Technologies to enable ingestion and processing of millions of streaming events per second : Apache Kafka, Apache Storm, Apache Spark, Apache HBase
- Deep Knowledge on Performance Analysis and Optimization and operation of Apache Hadoop, Spark, Databricks and the others mentioned above.
- Deep Knowledge on Open Source Technologies for Machine Learning such as: MLib
- Strong expertise in ETL/ELT approaches and expertise in technologies such as: Azure Data Factory and SQL Server Integration Services.
- Software Development skills to write code on Java, Spark Scala, Spark, Python.
