Position: Technical Project Manager
Location: Vernon Hills, IL
Duration: 6 Months
Job Duties:
- Responsible for end to end oversight of Data Center (DC) expansion efforts
- Shown experience working with diverse multi-functional teams in optimizing and scaling critical infrastructure across a global data center footprint
- Lead and meet with project team to review scope of work and create project plan. Schedule recurring internal and customer facing meetings as needed during project implementation to review and monitor project goals and status.
- Manage resources and activities to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget while delighting our customers.
- Weekly status presentations to the Executive team and major stakeholders.
- Run daily standups for new DC builds, and DC expansions.
- Physical inventory management and oversight including equipment life cycle management.
- Procurement of third party services for DC, e.g. network connectivity.
- Maintain documents critical to project implementation. Track project implementation and provide status updates on periodic basis (Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a strong team
- Backup other Project Managers as necessary.
- Work with vendors or third party supply chain partners as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years professional work experience.
- 4+ years IT project management experience.
- Experience in project management of a Data Center Infrastructure
- Skills or knowledge of an Infrastructure setup in a data center environment including an understanding of how a data center is built and how they are connected (inter/intra)
Other Qualifications:
- Project Management Certification (4PM, PMP etc.) and/or ITIL Certification preferred.
- Experience managing scheduling and budgets.
- Proven experience developing project scopes and objectives as well as team member roles and responsibility.
- Demonstrated planning skills and a proven ability to lead teams in a multi-project environment.
- Ability to establish customer trust and confidence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
