Network Engineer

Mason, OH

 

  • Minimum of 10+ years in Routing, switching, wireless, Security & Load balancers concepts.
  • Mandatory skill set
  • Strong knowledge and experience in EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
  • Installation, management and operational experience in Nexus 9k,7k,5k and stack swithches.
  • Deep understanding of PaloAlto firewalls configuration.
  • Experience in Cisco wireless lan controller management and wireless issue troubleshooting.
  • Having realtime experience in troubleshooting the complex network connectivity issues.
  • Knowledge on VCMP guests creation and F5's VIP configuration.
  • Understanding of the end to end traffic flow for network applications.

 

Good to have skills

 

  • Knowledge in automation of the network tasks.
  • F5 Irule and Certificate installation and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge on NSX or ACI environments.
  • Network design and architecture knowledge.

 

Additional skillset

  • ITIL incident, change and problem management process.
  • Checkpoint Software upgrade experience.

 

Job Duties

 

  • Configuring and troubleshooting Switches like Cisco Nexus 9K,7K,5K and 2K, Stack switches.
  • Handling the Datacenter operations which includes hands and feet support,coordination with various circuit providers.
  • Also responsible for device move,install or decomission in the datacenter.
  • Configuring, troubleshooting and handling EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
  • Creating IPsec over GRE tunnels, HSRP/VRRP configurations and Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and related components.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently on Cisco Wireless LAN controllers and access points.
  • Standardizing the access rules across the environment and implement best practices in the firewalls.
  • Responsible incident management support for security incidents based on the severity and complexity.
  • Perform Daily Health checks of device CPU, Memory, availability, performance of Firewalls, event analysis and proactive monitoring where possible using existing security tool.
  • Capture and analyze the detailed Logs and TCP DUMPs required for the Incidents and complex security issues.
  • Facilitate network and security device refresh with a focus on capacity, manageability, and security of new and existing security infrastructure
  • Configuring, troubleshooting and managing  the Paloalto global protect VPN configuration.
  • Managing the site to site VPNs on Palo firewalls
  • Performing detailed root cause analysis and apply the permanent fix for the high priority issues
  • Experience in monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, AppNeta and ticket handling tools.
  • CCNP, ITIL and any network related certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Must be able to communicate, interact and pro-actively engage in understanding issues in an effort to resolve technical infrastructure problems at any level.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to solve complex network problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job.
  • Highly motivated individual with strong analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Requires good communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.
