Job Description:

EventHub is building an enterprise platform that allows impactful projects at Capital One to more easily consume, transform, and apply streaming data in meaningful ways. As Capital One continues to develop more real-time, data-rich experiences, there is a need to lower the barrier to entry for developers, analysts, and data scientists wishing to leverage streaming data. The EventHub platform is a quickly growing, principal component of Capital One’s data strategy.

On the EventHub team you will:

Build and maintain scalable applications using cloud infrastructure

Develop and maintain critical features on the Eventhub platform

Write clean, pragmatic, and well-tested Scala application code

Deliver and influence the technical roadmap by effectively collaborating with product, engineering, and other internal customers

Contribute to and manage CI/CD pipelines to efficiently test and deploy code

Troubleshoot and triage production issues at scale

What it takes:

5+ years experience in software development, preferably with JVM based languages. Experience with Scala.

2 years working with AWS

1 year experience with stream processing technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming)

1 year experience in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Terraform)

Experience with monitoring & metrics (ELK, Cloudwatch, Datadog)

Strong communication skills
