JOB DETAIL

The Specialist will assists the existing technical training team in developing and maintaining the Special Education Student Information System (SESIS) training strategy, including its implementation and evaluation of professional development outcomes. The consultant will report to the Director of SESIS training; and will identify professional development opportunities as well as execute appropriate training initiatives that build SESIS users’ skills. The consultant will help with the ongoing, long-term improvement of SESIS User' skills, enabling them to effectively use the SESIS application to support Students with Disabilities. Increasingly, the consultant is required to assess the skills and knowledge of DOE SESIS users and determine what training is needed for them to grow and retain their skills

Duties

  • Assists with overall management and development of the SESIS training implementation program for all user groups. Using a ''train the trainer'' model and direct end-user training, the consultant is responsible for providing training to appropriate field and central staff that builds technical expertise and reinforces best practices among SESIS users
  • Supports the SESIS training program development by providing input into the training plan, attendee registration, delivery, and evaluation activities
  • Helps design the training curriculum and conduct training sessions
  • Ensures that training is provided for all user groups
  • Promotes staff buy-in and collects required feedback from users of SESIS
  • Communicates training activity, leveraging multiple communication venues to share relevant information
  • Works with staff and colleagues to ensure an effective, integrated approach to using SESIS
  • Helps develop and create SESIS training videos from start to finish (including scripting, storyboard and edits)
  • Uses Captivate 8, Adobe Connect, and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Evaluates training through Survey Monkey
  • Uses blended learning solutions
  • Designs and develops a complete e-Learning course for SESIS
  • Creates instructor guides and end user manuals for instructor-led courses
  • Provides one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Provides training, guidance and support to other trainers
  • Assists with the development of training methods and materials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Manage videos including uploading to Vimeo and monitor viewership

Mandatory Requirements

  • Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer
  • Experience (8+ Years)

Requirements

  • 84 months experience interacting with high-level executives, senior management and business teams to ensure training solutions are implemented and aligned with the business objectives and operational needs
  • 84 months experience developing enterprise-wide training and learning strategies including blended learning and eLearning solutions as well as training documentation for multiple modalities
  • 84 months experience leading a team to plan, design and develop end-user training strategy, including developing course curriculum, structure, content, and delivery methods to produce high-quality, engaging training
  • 84 months of experience developing and creating training videos from start to finish, including writing script, storyboard and editing, as well as adding closed captions
  • 84 months experience using presentation platforms to deliver group training sessions as well as large auditorium training sessions
  • 84 months evaluating the effectiveness of training and making adjustments as needed to ensure success of change management efforts
  • 84 months experience with project management, including using organizational skills to multi-task and manage time across multiple initiatives
  • 84 months experience using a Learning Management System to track registration and record participation in training sessions as well as working with MS Office Suite, WebEx, Adobe Suite (Captivate, Connect, Creative Cloud), MS Project, JIRA, Snagit, and SharePoint
  • 24 months in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
