JOB DETAIL

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

·         The Project Manager resource shall serve as a Technical Lead VoIP with the Network Infrastructure and Operations group of the Technology Department (TEC). The Consultant shall work in a large environment and under aggressive timelines supporting multiple Agency departments. The Technical Lead VoIP role is to coordinate strategies for defining, deploying, and maintaining the Port Authority's in-house IP telephony voice communication architecture and its associated network connections and component hardware, as well as, supporting and maintaining the PA’s deployed Cisco WebEx application.

 

·         This includes managing all engineering projects for VoIP initiatives, planning technology roadmaps, and configuring and optimizing all VoIP/IP-PBX telephone systems and services, both internally and those integrated with Internet-based services. Also, the VoIP Engineer/Architect's mandate will be to maintain SLAs for all organizational IP telephony applications

 

Responsibilities:

·         Plan the specified designs per customer’s requirements and deliver quick enterprise solutions.

·         Provide support for SIP- and TDM-based software installations with enhanced media gateways.

·         Enhanced 911 solution and implementation

·         Enhanced voice network security implementation

·         Upgrade of UC platform

·         Enhanced UC environment performance with deployed UC monitoring platform

·         Troubleshoot voice services for all LAN and WAN hardware components, and configure correct communication media segments.

·         Perform lab testing, design, and architecture work.

·         Ensure compliance to infrastructure standards.

·         Analyze the customized product in association with the third party, if needed, for enhancing the VoIP network services.

·         Plan the network capacity for the system, and perform troubleshooting on the existing network.

·         System review and upgrades.

·         Upgrade and support of Cisco WebEx application

 

Mandatory Skill/Expertise:

·         Minimum of 8 years’ experience managing IT Projects

·         8 + years of technical expertise in the VoIP UC communication environment

·         6 + years working in Public Sector

·         PMP Certification

·         Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

·         Experience implementing complex software packages requiring configuration and balancing stakeholder requirements with tight timelines.

·         Proficiency with MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

·         Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills

·         Ability to identify and resolve issues within the team crossing departmental boundaries
