Job Description:
Specific support will be provided to the Service Desk Team with responsibilities including:
· In-depth working experience of Windows 7, Windows 10, Google Docs, Office 2010/2013, application installation, Active Directory and other office product systems. Police specific applications.
Overview of Scope: Two Full Time Equivalent Senior Desktop Support Specialist working 7 - 3:30. The position is located at Police Headquarters in Millersville MD and district stations. The position requires an internal Police directed background investigation and after hour support as required. This is a 24/7 agency, after hour and weekend support is projected. It is estimated that 80% of their time will be during business hours and 20% after business hours.
Please also note that there is the potential for after hour support….. Candidates will be required to go to all police stations around AA County. Potentially 5 hours of OT per month and that would be on weekends. They will be compensated for all hours worked. Police background check will be required and candidate can start pending results…..
They are moving away from Microsoft to Google apps and this experience is a must
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Two years of course work with an AA certificate in electronic data processing from an accredited college, supplemented by courses in computer system administration or a related field; two ( 2) or more years of experience in technical support and maintenance of computer systems, including the configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
ITIL Certification
Dell or Panasonic certification is a plus
Note: This position is a safety sensitive position and employees in this position are
subject to Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) and Alcohol testing.
SUPPLEMENTAL QUALIFICATIONS :
This position will require a background check and verification . Preference will be given
to applicants who possess experience with : - G Suite ( mail , calendar , drive , Docs and
sheets ) - installation and troubleshooting of PC hardware ( Dell , MS Surface , I - Pads and
software - providing technical support for PC hardware , software and network -
upgrading and maintenance of personal computer hardware logging and ticketing
software HEAT
