JOB DETAIL

PHP DEVELOPER

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Remote until after Covid Restrictions, but local is preferred.

This person will need to work on site 100% of the time.  As such, local candidates will be preferred.  (Remote work is possible during covid

   restrictions)

Any resource with the legal authorization to work in the US can be considered.  It isn't a job requirement that this person is a US Citizen.

Scoring Criteria on resumes

20% - Relevant PHP experience, including Drupal

15% - Relevant public health reporting, HL7, and NEDSS Modernization Initiative experience

20% - Relevant Integration engine experience, preference for Mirth/NextGen Connect

15% - Relevant PostgreSQL and other relational database experience

30% - Cost

This work will initially be focused on the COVID-19 response but will also be expected to perform duties as required for all systems managed by DCPIP. This includes application enhancements to data collection, processing, storage, and analytic systems used by staff at UDOH, all local health departments, and multiple tribal public health organizations.

They will enhance systems used for collection of laboratory test order information; reporting of laboratory test results; reception and processing of electronic laboratory reports, case reports, and other disease surveillance data; analysis and visualization of operational metrics for test processing, case identification, contact tracing, and other epidemiological information; and reporting of surveillance information to the CDC, pandemic response leadership and stakeholders, and the general public.

They will be required to develop enhancements to existing systems as well as participate in the development of new and replacement systems as needed. Support for integrations between various existing and new systems will be established or enhanced.

The developer will need to have an advanced understanding of technologies and data formats currently in use including: PHP, Drupal, HL7, XML, JSON, PostgreSQL, and Mirth/NextGen Connect.

They will also need to have experience working with the CDC NEDSS Modernization Initiative and associated workflows.
