Job Responsibilities
Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex data analytics business issues within the Health and Life Sciences domain.
Builds elegant and informative Tableau visualizations, supporting design documentation.
Prepares client demonstrations, considers feedback and recommends appropriate alternatives.
Ability to manage all Tableau administration, incidents, patches and upgrades.
Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope.
May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process.
Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.
Ability to handle most unique situations.
May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Responsibilities
Participates as a member of development team or teams.
Works with business partners to gather analytics and reporting requirements and assists them in developing Tableau visualizations and workbooks.
Builds designs and contributes to designs for others.
Automates code deployments, monitoring and server job processes
Leads Tableau administration-related tasks for users, including (not limited to) extract scheduling, security, platform optimization, data source governance, installation, configuration, and patches
Troubleshoots Tableau Desktop and Server issues and recommend dashboard optimizations for best performance
Reviews Tableau Desktop license usage and reclaim licenses when necessary
Schedules backups of Tableau repository and perform restores if needed
Documents best practices for development and administration of the Tableau Platform and provide end-user training.
Develops independently; participates in code reviews and may lead code reviews. Supports the design and build of complex components.
Designs, prepares and executes unit tests.
Works with business partners to gather analytics and reporting requirements and assists them in developing Tableau visualizations and workbooks.
Documents changes to our Tableau environment, architecture, and automated processes
Manage the application's users, groups, and integration with Active Directory

Education and Experience
High degree of database design and development experience AND/OR significant experience building KBI/KPI executive dashboards using Tableau.
Experience working within the Health and Life Sciences domain, State Medicaid, and / or Health Insurance Plans a plus.
Track record of implementing solutions in Agile, Iterative and Waterfall development environments.
Typically a technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 3-5 years related experience in designing, building, testing and maintaining complex dashboard visualizations using Tableau. Master’s degree is a plus.

Proficient in T-SQL/SQL skills and relational database development (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
Database design experience a plus with emphasis on design principles, performance tuning and data relationships
Developed Tableau workbooks to perform year over year, quarter over quarter, YTD, QTD and MTD type of analysis.
Hands on experience on building trending graphs and connectivity with various databases such as Vertica, Oracle, Redshift and Synapse.
Involved in creating database objects like tables, views, procedures, triggers, and functions using vizSQL to provide definition, structure and to maintain data efficiently.
Built and published interactive reports, dashboards and scheduling using Tableau server.
Created action filters, parameters and calculated sets for preparing worksheets in Tableau.
Developed Tableau workbooks from multiple data sources using Data Blending.
Skilled in documenting client requirements in the spirt of top notch usability and performance.
Ability to integrate client expectations for file import/export and Microsoft Excel utilization.
Strong understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).
GIT experience a plus.
Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio).
Understanding of the Database Administration process.
Able to apply consistently quality and HIPPA security standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.
