Primary Skill: RPG3, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, Free Format RPG, CL400, FTP Data Transfer, AS400 Screens and Menu designing, Reports
Role Description: Candidate would need to have at least 8+ years of AS400/iSeries programing experience. As the AS/400 Application Engineer, responsible for design, develop, build, and maintain business applications and support functions based upon identified business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Modifies or creates programs based on the requesting business unit’s requirements. Programs include interactive programs requiring user interfaces and batch programs producing report or data output.
Thoroughly tests software changes to assure that the changes meet the business requirements and quality standards.
Interacts effectively with the business users and internal IT team members.
Provides technical support for activities such as training and acceptance testing.
Provides systems production support during business hours and during nightly processing.
Required Skills:
Expertise in AS400/iSeries including but not limited to CL, RPG/RPGLE, Procedures, Modules, Service programs, Binding directories, SQL, DDL, Data Queues, Message Queues, Web services, XML, Data transfer using FTP and Database concepts.
Strong experience of SQL including utilizing embedded SQL in RPGLE programs, working knowledge of relational databases
Knowledge of IFS and interacting with IFS using CL programs
Experience utilizing IBM i APIs
Experience with Turnover,Aldon and Jira is a plus.
