Position: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location: 475 Anton Boulevard, Costa Mesa, California- 92626

Duration: 6+ Months  

Pay Rate: $70/hr on c2c

Description

The Senior DevOps Engineer is a hands on technical position responsible for designing and implementing common framework solutions in a cloud based environment. In the world of DevOps, infrastructure and code become one. This person will drive platform enhancements, enable automation/self-service and implement new solutions that enable DevOps capabilities. As part of the greater Technology Operations & Infrastructure team this person will be responsible for supporting the end to end deployment of platform systems for a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, document, and support cloud platform capabilities using AWS best practices (fault tolerant, High Availability, security, etc)
  • Design, deploy, document, and support CI/CD tools such as Codebuild and CodePipeline to streamline deployments and infrastructure updates.
  • Create monitoring capabilities & alerting for Technical Operations Center (TOC) team members
  • Provide support for our internal deployment framework
  • Perform advanced technical troubleshooting for cloud & e-commerce environments
  • Enhance system performance and features on a regular basis for enhanced customer experience
  • Participate in on-call rotation with the team
  • Lead technical operations projects from requirements, to design, to implementation, to operations.

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • 10+ years’ experience in a system administrator role with at least 5 years supporting DevOps concepts focused on CI/CD and pipeline management.
  • Deployed applications in Amazon AWS
  • Proficiency in system design & architecture
  • Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes and deploying and maintaining containerized workloads
  • Fluent in Python and infrastructure management tool (Troposphere, Terraform, etc)
  • An ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
  • Deploying automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as AWS
  • Bachelor of Science or comparable experience

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Strong knowledge of the DevOps tool chain (CI/CD) on the AWS Linux platform: Jenkins, Nexus OSS, Artifactory, Harness, Code Pipeline, Code Build, Code Deploy, GitHub, GitLab, Chocolaty, CloudFormation, JIRA, Travis, etc.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across the enterprise
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, e-commerce environment
  • Understanding of Linux system administration for an e-commerce business
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • A passion for innovation and automation
  • Desire to learn about Infrastructure as Code
  • Self-starter
  • Operationally savvy, experience with monitoring, alerting, and analyzing system metrics to root cause problems and explain system behavior
  • Collaboration, drive open communication and reach across functional borders
