This SAS/Python Developer/ BigData Developer role with our client, RiskSpan, who is located in Virginia (their end client is Freddie Mac and this will be remote work until further notice).   Candidates MUST have recent and solid hands on experience with both SAS and Python, ideally 5-8 years of experience, but will consider someone with less.  This is a long term contracting role, minimum 1 year. 

Rate is $50-52 per hour, but let me know if you have a solid SAS/Python developer that exceeds this rate.

Candidates must be proficient in both SAS and Python for a SAS to Python conversion.  In addition, they must have worked in an Agile environment.  Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.  They are looking to hire someone ASAP.

Must Have: 

Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, R, SAS) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets Solid working knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts (in Python) Experience with model implementation Experience with code refactoring Experience querying databases using SQL Write effective, scalable code and should be able to improve responsiveness and overall performance of the code Integrate user-facing elements into applications Improve functionality of existing systems Ability to test and debug programs/tools/applications Fluent in Python libraries for Data Analysis (Pandas, Numpy, etc.) Experience working on Agile teams Solid communication skills Consulting experience preferred
