At a high level the skills required are similar, but someone Seniored. Whenever we make a change in network we have to go in and validate changes. Our Network is complex with different protocols, so this person has to build complete replica deploy in virtual environment with modeling tool and go in and implement the changes as it would in production. In addition, assess the impact of changes. This person needs to grasp and wrap your head around the changes made in a network, that is why this role is more senior. This person has worked in industry and has understanding of devices and protocols. Do the testing and assess the impact and give the go ahead of the changes made in the network. Will work of NetPlanner, which tells us the impact of the changes. This person will also take the changes and configure switch and implement in tool and do assessment.

This person can work completely remote!! WOHOO!! But need to work EST/MST/CST no issue as long as they are in the US

Description:
Senior Network Engineer, Test & Certification will beresponsible for:
• Build the network models in Riverbed NetPlanner software to test the impactof network changes
• Develop comprehensive test plans based on network designs and testrequirements.
• Conduct integration testing of new network hardware, network design andsoftware to support network infrastructure evolution.
• Support backend systems integration testing for provisioning, alarms andsurveillance.
• Collaborate with security team to ensure new software, platform and designmeets Visa’s security compliance requirements.
• Publish test results and present findings to cross functional teams.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Operations and System teamsthrough the lifecycle of network and platform evolution.
• Build and maintain relationships with global Network Engineering andOperations teams to support network deployment and address network supportissues.
• Leverage the findings from testing to develop methods and procedures tosupport successful deployment of new technologies in the production network.
• Install and maintain network hardware and software in the Global EngineeringTest and Certification lab and proof-of-concept environments.
• Follow all documented Change Control process requirements to implementchanges in the test environment.
• Work independently and support the platforms and network designs throughtheir lifecycle.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will be a senior technologist with strong cross-functionalleadership skills and hands on experience with diverse vendor platforms.Following skills are required for the Senior Network Engineer position:
• 3-7 years of industryexperience.
• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Sciences or Electrical Engineering.
- Creates routing or switching configuration scripts, at least on an occasionalbasis.
• Hands on experience with Riverbed NetPlanner Network modelling tool (formerlyknown as Opnet) is required
• Hands on experience with Cisco Modeling Tool (CML) and GNS3.
• Hands on experience with routers, Ethernet switching platforms.
• Hands-on experience in designing and deploying large scale-out networktechnologies including Cisco and non-Cisco network technologies.
• Routing and switching design concepts for Data Centers.
• Understanding of the routing protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, BGP4, OSPF andRIP.
• Excellent communicator and team-builder, capable of establishing trust andsecuring partnership with all levels of the organization, from engineers tosenior executives.
• Excellent analytical skills, with experience rationalizing large, disparatedatasets into concrete observations/recommendations, and formalizing into newnetwork solutions.
•
Cisco CCNP or equivalentindustry certification
Preferred Skills:
• Advanced Network Industry certification e.g. CCIE and JNCIE
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related technical field
• Network programming using Ansible, Python
• Understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network FunctionVirtualization (NFV) and its application in Data Center and WAN design.
