Sr. Software Engineer /Sr Java API Developer(USC,GC,EAD-GC)

Duration: 6 month

Daily responsibilities:

Attend regular scrum meetings. Design and develop software. Unit test software. Participate in architecture/design reviews. Collaborate with web and mobile developers in order to understand APIs etc. Deliver on time and with quality. Create and implement patterns. Mentor early career engineers.

Mentor others, but no direct reports

Knowledge of DevOps (some base level, Jenkins how to push button to deploy)

If they have mobile experience would be plus - supporting mobile apps and portals. 

Supporting web services - doing advancements and building out new services (90% of the time are consuming current systems - could be FIRE, legacy, SOAP). This group takes complex systems and makes it consumable 

Mobile Legacy on Zammeran, New is SWift, Native, Kapan

- API layer is Java, presenting to Swift of Kapan

Front end is nice to have, not necessary. 

Top 3 requirements: JAVA AND API are most important 

1) Java

2) API Development - creating gateway API looking at backend systems and translating for the front end. Built to help mobile

Team makeup: 6 developers 

Project: Mobile App for Customers. This project involves development of the Mobile and Portal Application. Java API needs to be created for Mobile and Portal applications.

Look at current, upcoming appointments, medical history, order prescriptions

App - Can look up ICD10 codes, providers use to train and communicate around best practices for coding

Experience: 5+

Tech Skills: Java, API calls (SOAP (just consume) and Restful), Spring

Soft Skills: Self-directed, someone who wants to be UHG employee long term, 

Interview: 2 rounds - Video Management interview (Paul and other = cultural) and Video (technical)
