JOB DETAIL

Location: Columbus, OH (Priority will be given to candidates local to the Columbus/Ohio market)

(Willing to work onsite in Columbus once WFH orders lift (will start in a remote capacity but client may require work to be completed onsite once it’s been deemed safe)

Job Description:

Selected Responsibilities:
- Work with Business Analysts and Consultants to identify requirements and consolidate enterprise data model consistent with business processes
- Design logical and physical models for the data warehouse or operational application
- Communicate physical designs to the database administrator
- Evolve model to meet new and changing business requirements
- Develop process for capturing and maintaining metadata for application components
- Monitor projects to ensure adherence to standards and governance processes
- Own and develop key aspects of the information architecture, including data models, data flow diagrams, and metadata strategy
- Work closely with both business users and technical staff to guide the most effective
- Ensure that projects are following database management standards and methodologies
- Ensure that change control processes are followed for database changes
- Develop and maintain an integrated data model representing the myriad of Cardinal Health subject areas, and underpinning key business processes
- Extract business rules (business processes, business entities, etc.) from customers – directly, or indirectly via the Business Analyst, to design the associated model, and create all required documentation to support, communicate, and validate the data model
- Participate in peer reviews reviewing work products and providing direction to other data modelers
- Manage data modeling libraries to ensure proper change control and publishing models
- Evaluate and provide input to the adoption of modeling tools

Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 5-7 years of experience as a Data Modeler
- knowledge of networking concepts, object-oriented technology, data warehousing, and relational database engines - Advanced proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)"

Required Skills:
- Strong SQL skills required.
- Experience in data management through data modeling, data architecture, and data warehouse.
- Python, Big Query/GCP, AtScale, Tableau/Business Objects experience a plus
