Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to join HealthPartners IS&T department in Bloomington, MN. This position ensures that technology initiatives meet business requirements and function as defined. This position is responsible for creating technology-based solutions by developing and implementing test automation to deliver quality products. The person in this position mitigates the risk of changes to the current production environment by testing, coordinating, and overseeing testing issue resolution. The person in this position provides feedback, develops, and maintains quality engineering practices and procedures.
Duties include:
- Manages and coordinates testing activities for medium to large projects.
- Builds robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions for functional, regression and performance testing.
- Designs, implements and maintains test automation frameworks to reduce manual tests.
- Design and develop test automation scripts adhering standard automation principles and guidelines.
- Ensures and maintains the stability of the testing environment to ensure testing activities are successfully completed.
- Resolves and coordinates testing issues with IS&T development teams, vendors, and business users.
- Participates in projects, ensuring the coordination of quality engineering activities in alignment with the project plan.
- Creates documentation and reports for test results and defect trends; analyzes data makes recommendations to management.
- Implements test automation ROIs metrics and show/share value with team.
- Collaborates with Quality engineers and business partners across the organization to incorporate quality engineering principles within system development and management.
- Works with other Quality engineers, customers and business partners to develop test strategies, accelerate automation and negotiate approvals.
- Acts as a liaison with vendors and contractors to assess potential applications and systems for purchase.
- Maintains awareness of the latest developments, researches and recommends automation strategy and quality tools and processes to build quality in and brings forward opportunities that might benefit HealthPartners.
- Facilitates or manages testing projects, including planning, scheduling and allocating resources as appropriate for the scope and goals of the project.
Education & experience:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT and Quality Assurance and engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in depth knowledge of Quality Engineering practices.
- 4+ years of experience in automation development and implementation.
- 3+ years of experience in Object Oriented design patterns and coding best practices, mainly in Java and .Net development.
- Excellent experience in test data management strategy and modern Quality practices.
- Good experience in providing guidance and leading automation.
- Experience utilizing and integrating testing best practices and methodologies.
- Expertise in developing test automation and Continuous Integration (CI) Continuous Delivery (CD) solutions.
- Hands on experience in designing, developing and implementing Web and Mobile test automation framework for a software product using Open source tool like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Karate and Cucumber.
- Proficiency with programming in Object oriented and scripting languages like (Java, C# and Ruby with Selenium/Appium/Karate etc.).
- Experience in other languages/tools, such as (JavaScript, VB script, Perl, C++, Cucumber, VSTS, JMeter, LoadRunner, UFT/QTP, TestComplete).
- Demonstrated test automation and scripting skills (Java, C#, Selenium etc.).
- Proficiency in writing queries against databases and data warehouses (Oracle or SQL server,MySQL and Mongo).
- Experience with Quality tools (JIRA, HP ALM, Zephyr, Rally, Rational, MTM, TFS/VSTS, SOAPUI, and virtualization technology).
- Proficient with systems development life cycles and software testing and automation within agile environments and knowledge of Test-Driven-Development (TDD), Shift left and DevOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Preferred Education & experience:
- Certifications in testing processes and procedures or Quality engineering processes and procedures.
- Certification in Java or.Net programming.
