Job Description

Position Overview:

The UX Designer helps lead the effort to design and craft exceptional user experiences and interfaces for Kuder products. Collaborating to define and shape product concepts, the UX Designer works closely with product and agile development teams as well as the marketing team. The UX Designer applies knowledge of product management and design-thinking methods to the process of conceiving, validating, and building products.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support the product team by exploring and validating design ideas
  • Collaborate and engage with product management, engineering, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to understand needs and desired outcomes
  • Develop mockups, user flows, annotated wireframes, and interactive prototypes at various levels of fidelity
  • Establish design standards with attention to inclusiveness and accessibility, ensuring those standards are consistently and appropriately applied within the design system
  • Guide design strategy and ensure presence of elements that will support product success, from the design system to a consistent visual identity and tone of voice
  • Inform and lead the product and development teams with experience of organizing complex and diverse types of content, visualizing the customer context, and portraying the customer journeys
  • Participates in product iteration and detailed specification of visual designs for user interfaces of future and existing global platforms and applications.
  • Maintain understanding of current web technologies and UI/UX practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.

 

Non-essential Job Functions:

  • Supports the development and client implementation teams as needed by creating visual designs and user interface designs that address client’s business, brand, market and user requirements, including design and productions of screen layouts, color palettes, typography and interface elements.
  • Collaborates with sales, marketing, communications, training, and other teams as warranted.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a UX Designer
  • A passion for user research and solid understanding of UX discovery and delivery
  • Demonstrate knowledge of product design in a software team, including how you handle engineering constraints, regulatory constraints, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Demonstrate that your work can deliver design across any stage of the product lifecycle, from idea sketching and lo-fi prototypes to high fidelity design.
  • You nurture agreement in teams and with stakeholders by having a developed toolkit of product discovery techniques and workshops to help facilitate design discussions and get people aligned on the problem.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to successfully communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of user centered design process.
  • Understanding of site structure, navigation, UI principles, and user flows.
  • Knowledge of wireframing tools
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design system tools and basic knowledge of prototyping tools.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience with human-centered design thinking, Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD), or other product development frameworks
  • Familiarity or experience with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and best practices for inclusive design
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
