Role & Responsibilities

 

 

• He will Design, plan and execute or replatforming and upgrade of operating environments of Linux ( RedHat, Suse OEL) and other Unix OS from current version to its latest versions.

 

• He will drive the assessment and analysis for replatfroming and OS upgrade of Linux system

 

• Should have experience in shell scripting and other coding languages such as Python for automation

 

• He will involve in the upgrade and migration discussion with application team, BAU and Architects for Unix track.

 

• He will involve in implementing the Linux based solution for small to enterprise customer environments including X86, with HA and DR scenarios along with execution engineers.

 

• Sizing of HP/IBM,HP,IBM hardware along with Vendors
• SUSE/OEL/RHEL 4,5,6 upgrade and replatforming
• Cluster install and configuration

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Required Candidate Profile

• Should be well versed with design and installation of SUSE/RHEL systems

 

• Should be well versed with design and  installation of Linux cluster

 

• Sound knowledge on trouble shooting complex issues/problem in SUSE/RHEL environments

 

• Should have knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies concepts

 

• Should have knowledge and experience of server refresh, OS upgrade, replatforming  and migration project based on SUSE and RHEL LINUX

 

• Should have knowledge on Data Migration tools

 

• Extensive experience in installing, upgrading, and maintaining  LINUX  environment with cluster setups

 

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

 

• Good customer service and communication (oral and written) skills.  Ability to deliver professional engagement documentation.

 

Certifications:

• SUSE/ RHEL certification
• Any industry standard certifications on related technology

 

 

 

 

Primary Skill (Technical Skill)

• Linux Operating system, Linux cluster,  Virtualization and Migration.

 

• Should have experience in shell scripting and other coding languages such as Python.

 

• Should have knowledge and experience of server refresh and migration project based on LINUX

 

• Cross platform migration experience b/w two UNIX flavors.

 

• OS upgrade

 

 

Secondary Skill
