Job Description: 9 + years

Role & Responsibilities          

•          Analyze, Design and implement the databases for larger OLTP/ Database warehouse environments

•          Strong hands-on on Designing and implementing the databases high availability with DR solutions

•          Extensive  knowledge on Migration / upgrade activities with best possible and suitable implementation recommendations

•          Design and implement the backup and recovery strategy

•          Recommend the best practices on database monitoring implementation

•          Review and agree on the design parameters

•          Defining the performance benchmarks and metrics using standard tools

•          Database sizing and projections for the future growth

•          Periodic database performance review and tuning recommendation

•          Proactive database analysis and suggestion to application team / business

•          Good knowledge on Shell scripts and PL/SQL scripts

•          Work with application, business  and client managers on project tracking and effort estimations

•          Interact with team members work across geographies location

 

Skills    Must have      

Technical Skills (Core & Top-Up)       

•          Strong experience on database migration, upgrade, troubleshoot and best practice implementation on various versions of Oracle databases

•          Should be well versed with design and  installation of database under different platforms

•          Database upgrade and migration experience

•          Design, planning, setup and administer disaster recovery and high availability solutions

•          Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning experience and recommendation

•          Evaluate and implement the hot fixes, critical patches and service pack    

 

Nice to Have

•          Vendor Certified Expert / Master

•          Installing the database on various Unix / Windows platforms

•          Handled database estate of various technologies

•          Good knowledge on various operating system, storage, backup and network technologies

 

Behavioral Skill          

•          Strong verbal and written communication skills

•          Flexibility, good attitude        

•          Manage the global infrastructure customer and projects
