Abbott is looking for a motivated data engineer/analyst to join our R&D team. You’ll be working with data collected from cardiology catheter labs around the country, helping to understand what factors best contribute to consistent, high-quality patient care.

The position includes:

·         Cleaning and preparing data for analysis

·         Identifying data inconsistencies and errors

·         Working with field engineers to resolve the errors

·         Producing ad-hoc analysis and reporting for project leadership

·         Generating on-going reports of data collection progress

·         Mentoring field engineers in analyzing subsets of the data

·         Analyzing data to prove the impact of different factors on procedure efficiency and efficacy

Technology stack includes:

·         Python

·         Pandas, numpy, scipy

·         Matplotlib, plot.ly

·         Excel

·         JMP

·         Azure, Office 365

Qualified candidates must have:

·         3-5 years of relevant work experience in data analysis and engineering

·         Experience with manipulating data and generating statistics in some programming language, preferably Python or R.

·         Strong grasp of statistics. E.g., should know how to calculate confidence intervals, p-values, etc.

·         Good experience generating simple data visualizations (bar plots, scatter, plots, box plots, etc)

The following experience is helpful but not mandatory:

·         Experience dealing with medical data, especially cardiology

·         Experience with cloud infrastructure, especially Azure

·         Experience with the tech stack noted above.
