Job Title: Core Java Developer

Location: New York City, NY

Role with Genpact  Contract 2 hire

End Client: Morgan Stanley

Rate: $50/hr on C2C

Job Description: In this role, you will be responsible for working as Senior Java Developer responsible for the back end service layer for a system. You would also play the role of Senior Architect with hands on development. You will be responsible for the following areas

1.      ∙                     Technical analysis and design

2.      ∙                     Development middleware and/or database

Responsibilities
The roles involve:

1.          Developing server-side components (using Java and related apis) components that meet the business requirements in an effective and efficient manner.

2.          Debug/Develop stored procedures, queries on Sybase RDBMS.

3.          Directly interface with business analysts in understanding the requirement and providing solutions.

4.          Application architect experience

5.          Experience building Java applications, in a service based architecture.

6.          Need hands on current experience on Java JUnit, XML, Spring, Hibernate and SQL. 

7.          Strong DB knowledge- including PL/SQL

8.          Knowledge of PERL

9.          Hands on experience with version control, build integration and messaging technologies.

10.      Need to demonstrate in-depth understanding of OO principles, design patterns and threading techniques.

11.      Strong Web Services background required.

12.      Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

13.      Strong computer science and data-structure fundamentals.

14.      Appreciation for design patterns/anti-patterns.

15.      Appreciation for team-work

16.      Ability to build  or work in a continuous integration framework

17.      Must be able to interact with all levels of personnel within the organization and be effective with both business and technical teams.

18.      Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring unfocused issues to resolution

19.      Excellent written and oral communication skills for managing interactions both within the team and without.

20.      Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong work ethic

21.      Financial Services experience is a plus

22.      An ideal candidate will demonstrate excitement for technology and business. S/he will also be able to handle competing demands on time and manage his/her work to deadlines. Flexibility in outlook is essential. A lot interaction with business users and global development teams in different time-zones is involved.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s or Masters in Computer Science or related field from a reputable institute.

Preferred qualifications:

1.          Financial Services experience is a plus

2.          Investment banking and finance domain understanding.
