Title: Agile Coach

Location: NYC, NY

Job Description:

An Agile Coach is expected to provide Agile coaching to teams on all aspects of Agile, with a strong focus on Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and other agile practices adopted by the organization. This includes working in a hands-on manner with the teams as well as in a consultant model, helping the teams embrace an agile mindset, leverage Agile and its ceremonies, roles, and artifacts to reach greater success. Coach teams and management towards improving agile process and metrics, evaluate and mentor existing agile teams, and provide tactical training for product owners, developers and testers.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Testers) on proper approach to story sizing/ estimation, Agile KPI’s and Agile engineering practices
  • Develop and offer Agile related workshops and training
  • Drive and motivate teams to adopt best practices
  • Be on site with customer teams
  • Champion enterprise-wide agile adoption and continued improvement across the organization.
  • Be comfortable working at all levels (team, stakeholder, and organizational leadership) to help the organization use Agile as a strategic asset for culture change and business value generation.
  • Work with peers and Management to define and refine the enterprise agile vision, drive the organization-wide agile adoption strategy and rollout plans.
  • Capture feedback and continuously improve enterprise agile practices, training materials, and content.
  • Identify, capture and mitigate organization impediments that impact the team such as organizational structure; training, mindset etc.
  • Organize workshops and presentations that help promote agile maturity across the organization.
  • Conduct sessions that include, but is not limited to, the areas of release planning, backlog grooming, story writing, roles and responsibilities, as well as the ceremonies of Scrum, SAFe, Kanban and technical best-practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or equivalent work experience
  • College degree in information technology, business, finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 yrs, 3+ years preferred experience with agile project delivery practices
  • Self- starter with the ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & Power Point)
  • Experience using various agile project delivery toolsets
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to various stakeholder groups (includes line of business, technology and operations)
  • Ability to collaborate well with project team members and line of business stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of agile / continuous delivery concepts
  • Deep expertise in project methodology and software development lifecycle
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Ability to think and communicate outside Agile frameworks but relate Agile principles
  • Ability to perform assessments of the current Agile practices to determine areas for improvement
  • Ability to develop recommendations towards the tools, processes, and technology used within the client’s Agile practice
  • Ability to develop roadmaps for implementation of recommendations
  • Self-driven and proactive
  • Open to feedback and focused on continuous improvement
  • Highly knowledgeable in Agile coaching frameworks
  • Has personally lead training classes in Agile practices
